This was my first Amazon purchase and I reviewed this tool and its competitors from several sites. Amazon provided all the details I could want and this tool appeared to be exactly what I needed for the price. I have always enjoyed Bosch quality tools and this one is no different. I was confused at first about how to put things together and use the tool, but within minutes out of the box (and reading instructions) I had it tearing up tile faster than I could believe. I tend to push tools (among other things) to their upper limits of performance and I count on solid performance. This tool does what it says. Very well.

The reviews here are great so I will just add what is missing.
I ordered this chipping hammer and some chisels for it. To specify, the extra bits that are already included with this tool are the "Bosch HS1465 SDS-Plus Tile Chisel" and the "Bosch HS1470 SDS Plus Viper Long Life Chisel". Wish I had figured this out ahead of time. Oh well, I just have some extras now and don't feel like going through the trouble to return them. You also get the carrying case.
I am several weeks away from a tile removal project so out of the box I just wanted to check and make sure the tool worked. I put a chisel in, plugged it in, and pulled the trigger. I heard the motor going but no action from the chisel. The trick is (and it isn't specified in the manual) is you need to apply some pressure against the chisel. I stuck it against a piece of tile and found that it works fine.
In addition, the chisels are rotatable in the chuck, the grip handle near the front is rotatable, and the trigger can be locked "on". The trigger is also sensitive to how much you pull it; you can get a really slow chiseling action if you want.

Update: A year later and I have removed 2 layers of tile from the cement slab of my entire kitchen and dining room. Probably added up to a full week of chipping away at it and smoothing the cement. It is very tiring work. Make sure to wear long sleeves, long pants, gloves, respirator and face shield. Shards of tile are very sharp. I unfortunately had a piece of broken tile cut through my leather work glove and got 5 stitches in my left thumb. This was while holding the trigger with my right hand and my left hand was on the handle oriented directly left (thumb on the underside). After that I used a different grip so my left hand wasn't so close to the tile floor. Also, rather than close off the room with plastic, I set up folding chairs with a canvas drop cloth to help enclose the dust. Everything still gets very dusty so I found it best just to finish the project faster and clean everything once afterwards.
One time I had a large (6" scraper blade I think) get stuck on the hammer and could not remove it. Bosch was helpful to provide part diagrams and disassembly advice to get the bit off. I ended up not needing it. I instead used the bit for several hours, it got nice and hot and removed easily. I always make sure to put some grease on every bit and remove the bit immediately after use in case the cooling is what gets it stuck. Haven't had a problem since.

this tool works better than the makita tool of similar operation. i am very pleased with them since i bought 2 to take off tile and the like and it works great- faster then the makita since it has 3500 bpm and the makita has only 3200 bpm.. love it recommend it!!!
